The physical, emotional and social impact of chronic pain is enormous. It is characterized by being persistent and durable, usually for three months or longer. It can have various causes, such as injuries, chronic diseases, musculoskeletal disorders or complex medical conditions. This type of pain can significantly affect the quality of life, generating limitations in daily activities, altering sleep, generating stress and decreasing emotional well-being.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy are the most widely used approaches for the treatment of chronic pain. In therapy, we explore the connections between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors regarding pain. I will provide you with tools to identify and modify negative thoughts and maladaptive beliefs related to pain, and teach you relaxation and stress management techniques to reduce pain perception and improve your overall well-being.

In addition, we will work together to set realistic goals and develop a physical activity plan tailored to your abilities and limitations. Regular physical activity and proper exercise can help reduce pain intensity, improve physical function, and increase the production of endorphins, which are natural neurotransmitters that promote feelings of well-being.

We can also incorporate Mindfulness Techniques and Meditation to help you develop a greater awareness of the present moment and cultivate an attitude of acceptance and compassion towards pain, which can contribute to reduce the associated suffering.

My goal is to provide you with a holistic and personalized approach to treating chronic pain, focusing on both physical pain management and emotional well-being. We will work together to improve your quality of life, reduce disability and develop effective strategies to address the challenges associated with chronic pain.
